Worthy is the Lamb
Seated on the throne
Crown You now with many crowns
You reign victorious
High and lifted up
Jesus, Son of GOD
The Darling of Heaven crucified
Worthy is the Lamb, Worthy is the Lamb
*FLASHBACK - A.D. 95 - John, a disciple of Jesus, on the island of Patmos - A Vision*
And every creature which is in heaven and on the earth and under the earth and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, I heard saying:
"Blessing and honour and glory and power be to Him who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb, forever and ever!"
Then the four living creatures said, "Amen!" And the twenty-four elders fell down and worshipped Him who lives forever and ever. Revelation 5:12-14 NKJV.
*FLASHBACK - A.D. 26 - John the Baptist began his ministry in Bethany*
The very next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and yelled out, "Here he is, God's Passover Lamb! He forgives the sins of the world! This is the man I've been talking about, 'the One who comes after me but is really ahead of me.' I knew nothing about who he was - only this: that my task has been to get Israel ready to recognise him as the God-Revealer. That is why I came here baptizing with water, giving you a good bath and scrubbing sins from your life so you can get a fresh start with God."
John 1:29-31 The Message.
*FLASHBACK - A.D. 57 - Apostle Paul during his third missionary trip to Rome - Writing to the church in Rome *
It's news I'm most proud to proclaim, this extraordinary Message of God's powerful plan to rescue everyone who trusts him, starting with Jews and then right on to everyone else! God's way of putting people right shows up in the acts of faith, confirming what Scripture has said all along: "The person in right standing before God by trusting him really lives." Romans 1:16-17 The Message.
But God's angry displeasure erupts as acts of human mistrust and wrongdoing and lying accumulate, as people try to put a shroud over truth. But the basic reality of God is plain enough. Open your eyes and there it is! By taking a long and thoughtful look at what God has created, people have always been able to see what their eyes as such can't see: eternal power, for instance, and the mystery of his divine being. So nobody has a good excuse. Romans 1:18-20 The Message.
What happened was this: People knew God perfectly well, but when they didn't treat him like God, refusing to worship him, they trivialised themselves into silliness and confusion so that there was neither sense nor direction left in their lives. They pretended to know it all, but were illiterate regarding life. They traded the glory of God who holds the whole world in his hands for cheap figurines you can buy at any roadside stand. Romans 1:21-23 The Message.
Perhaps a God who took on human flesh, died and resurrected is too unbelievable. So some choose to work out their own enlightenment. While some believe good works would earn credits for the next life, others discuss philosophy. Then there are those who embrace all gods, and those who deny the existence of any gods.
So when we preach that Christ was crucified, the Jews are offended, and the Gentiles say it's all nonsense. But to those who are called by God to salvation, both Jews and Gentiles, Christ is the mighty power of God and the wonderful wisdom of God. 1 Corinthians 1:23-24 NLT.
Even when we exclude Him, he has already included us when he stretched his arms, one to the left and the other to the right and said, "It is finished!" And bowing His head, He gave up His Spirit. John 19:30 NKJV.
