A Greater Love

A Greater Love
(Al Denson, Robert White Johnson, Jim Robinson)

An emptiness tries to fill this room
Seems I've lost a part of me too soon
The thought of facing
Even one more night
All alone, I feel so weak inside

Through the silence now I hear a voice
A song of hope that says
I have a choice
I hear the healing in Your sweet refrain
That gives me wings to fly
Above the pain

Now a greater love is holding my hand
It's a greater love that lifts me up
So my heart can dance
My Saviour lives
Now my life is His
There's no greater love
No greater love

And in any event, you should desire the most helpful gifts. First, however, let me tell you about something else that is better than any of them! 1 Corinthians 12:31 NLT.

If I could speak in any language in heaven or on earth but didn't love others, I would only be making meaningless noise like a loud gong or a clanging cymbal.
If I had the gift of prophecy, and if I knew all the mysteries of the future and knew everything about everything, but didn't love others, what good would I be?
And if I had the gift of faith so that I could speak to mountain and make it move, without love I would be no good to anybody.
If I gave everything I have to the poor and even sacrificed my body, I could boast about it; but if I didn't love others, I would be of no value whatsoever.
1 Corinthians 13:1-3 NLT.

Now we see things imperfectly as in a poor mirror, but then we will see everything with perfect clarity. All that I know now is partial and incomplete, but then I will know everything completely, just as God knows me now. There are three things that will endure - faith, hope, and love - and the greatest of these is love.
1 Corinthians 13:12-13 NLT.

Love. A four letter word that takes a lifetime to learn and perfect. Love takes courage. Love changes perspective, turns around a bad attitude, softens the worst temper, strengthens the meek and gives courage to the weak. Love protects and provides. Love accepts and corrects. Love never fails.

Things are not always how we would like them to be. People are not always what we expect them to be.
Sometimes the journey gets tough. Sometimes the soul gets weary. Sometimes the heart gets heavy. And sometimes we find ourselves alone.

Not every parent loves unconditionally. Not every child loves back. Not every love is returned. Not every need is met. Not every dream comes true.
Some families are broken. Some marriages fail. Some siblings take their rivalry to court while some never talk.

Not every brother or sister is the keeper of another. Not everyone finds a kindred spirit as David did Jonathan.
Not every Christian is like Jesus and not all good people are Christians. Not every shepherd ministers with a shepherd's heart. And not every lover is faithful.

Yet, I say, there is hope!
Why are you cast down, O my soul? And why are you disquieted within me? Hope in God, for I shall yet praise Him for the help of His countenance.
Psalms 42: 5 NKJV.

Why are you down in the dumps, dear soul? Why are you crying the blues? Fix my eyes on God - soon I'll be praising again. He puts a smile on my face.
He's my God. Psalms 42:11 The Message.

We love each other as a result of his loving us first. 1 John 4:19 NLT. Let God love. Allow His touch to heal the deepest wound and wipe away the darkest shame.
We may not always say or do the right thing the first time or seventy times seven times. But we can't give up because love never gives up.

Shalom,
Sv ".+
