He who does not love does not know God, for God is love. 1 John 4:8 NKJV.
Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails......And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love.
1 Corinthians 13:4-8, 13 NKJV.
If we were to rephrase each of the pronoun above, how would we fair? What is the condition of our heart, mind and spirit? Is who we are and how we are for the good of those around us? If we really have the interests of those who love and care about us in our heart, how would our words and deeds be towards them? More importantly, what would our motives be? Only God knows and He will be the judge of what lurks in our heart.
There is a limited time to know how to love, to learn how to love, to show love. Death takes our loved ones away from us, it separates the living and the dead.
I have a dream, in my dream, "God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrows, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away." Revelation 21:4 NKJV.
Live and love truly, madly, deeply. Lest we die without realising what it means to be fully human and alive; hence failing to experience the fullness of life that Jesus gives; and as a result, missing Life completely.
Shalom,
