It was a typical weekday morning and I was with our 10-month-old baby,
Grace. I noticed a little oddity about her shirt. It was missing on
the top button. Thinking that it may have come loose, I looked around
but could not find it on her mattress or the surrounding. I told Veron
about it and even joked that Grace may have swallowed it.
When I came home from work that evening, my Mom told me a most amazing
thing. While I was at work, my Mom and our domestic helper Yumi,
searched the house for the missing button without avail. When the
little one needed a change of diaper, there, stuck to the baby's bum,
and slightly stained by her poo, was the little button!
The button was about 10mm in diameter and 1mm thick. It looked like
Grace may have plucked it off in the night, and promptly deposited
that into her mouth and tummy for safe-keeping. What amazes me is that
she managed to swallow it without choking. Even grown-ups may need
some water to go with that, if they can be coaxed to eat a plastic
button, much less a 10-month old.
Well, GOD is truly amazing. He has never failed us in times of need,
even in needs that we are not aware of. He who watches over us neither
slumber nor sleep, and we are truly safe in His presence and care.
