Greater Things

The person who trusts me will not only do what I'm doing but even greater things, because I, on my way to the Father, am giving you the same work to do that I've been doing.
You can count on it. From now on, whatever you request along the lines of who I am and what I am doing, I'll do it. That's how the Father will be seen for who he is in the Son.
I mean it. Whatever you request in this way, I'll do. John 14:12-14 The Message.

"Whatever you request along the lines of who I am and what I am doing, I'll do it." These words were spoken by Jesus before his arrest. In assuring his disciples, he also commissioned them to a life of faith, hope and trust in him; which will usher in breakthroughs in works that will testify to the heart of God for the world. Visionary, instructive, empowering, definitive. The Lord proclaimed the reality of God's kingdom breaking into our fallen world.

It is an empowering not derived from ritualistic religiosity, but from intimacy with God. It is only when we have a glimpse of God, then will we see what it means to be created in His image, that man was created to reflect the goodness of God. Then breakthroughs birthed from within, will be lived out. The seed of transformation comes about from relishing the truth revealed by the Word of God, drawing the surrendering of the self to live out the truth as lived out by Jesus.

When that takes place, changed lives will change the fabric of our society, our country, our workplace, our family, our relationships. It is an advancement, a work-in-progress, passed on from one person to another, which will only come to completion in the coming of Christ Jesus.
