Dear JT,
You seem to have a way of getting louder as you talk. Perhaps that's the way you speak. Perhaps it's because you work in a highly stressed environment. Or maybe you are just as frustrated as me facing various challenges and demands that stretch the realities.
Whatever it is, there's no need to raise your voice when you address us. Although I wear a hearing aid, I can hear you just fine, even if you were to speak like a gentleman. We would be grateful if you could discuss issues calmly.
Brother, I am not afraid to admit that we at IT Dept are far from perfect. We have at times blundered in the way we serve you. We have made our embarrassing share of sub-optimal recommendations and wrong conclusions. But still I dare say we gave our best as we struggle to meet all pressing demands daily. If there's anything you are not satisfied with, I'm all ears. Discuss, engage, have a dialogue, whatever. Losing your temper and flaring at us doesn't solve the problem. Humiliating us doesn't make the problem go away. Raking up the past doesn't change the present. Unless you believe in that?
My friend, nowhere is it stated in the Bible that we should run each other down, or that position power gives us the right to treat others like dirt. On the contrary, it says to honour one another, and regarding others as better than ourselves.
Nevertheless, if in spite of everything, we still do not give you any confidence in the services that we provide, we will do the rightful and honourable thing and let someone better take over. I can only hope that in the short time we have served in this organization, at least some good has resulted.
Thomas
