I thank God for a wonderful miracle yesterday.
My vendor, project mate and I were at our wits' end concerning a potentially show-stopping problem we had in an IT project. With the system due to be deployed in an overseas location in less than 10 days, we found a fundamental flaw with the vendor's proposed solution. There were 3 options - one involved buying additional software costing thousands of dollars, another was a risky, untested solution which may adversely affect our production system in Singapore, while the last option was to get a software installed on a server. The last option would have been a clearcut winner except for one thing - the software repeatedly fail to install on that server.
I had to decide by today which option we can/will take as all arrangements have been made for our team to fly onsite in 10 days. Last night was our last attempt to install the software on the server. At about 6.30pm, I received an SMS message that the installation went well. This itself was a miracle as we tried to install the whole of two previous nights without success. This time, success came barely one and a half hours after the installation began!
I have nothing except praises to God, who intervened promptly when all else has failed. He gave us the peace of mind and wisdom to get over this hurdle. We continue to commit the rest of this project to God, knowing that He will to see us through other challenges and teach us new things along the way.
God bless,
Thomas
