Raised by Grace
When the oceans rise and thunders roar, I will soar with You above the storm.
Father, You are King over the flood. I will be still, know You are GOD.
But those who wait on the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles,
they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint. Isaiah 40:31 NKJV.
Ever watched an eagle in flight? Soaring upwards, carried by the wind under its wings. Likewise, the grace of God carries His child through the journey of life. And He said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness." Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
2 Corinthians 12:9 NKJV.
The eagle cannot see the wind, yet stretches out its wings to allow itself to be lifted higher. Similarly, the child of God sees not the Father, yet recognises the Father's voice. "The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear the sound of it, but cannot tell where it comes from and where it goes. So is everyone who is born of the Spirit." John 3:8 NKJV.
Keep At It
Don't give up, don't give in, give it all to Him. For He cares so much more than you know.
When it seems that you really want to be someone you'll never become, just look how far you have come.
"You are blessed when you are at the end of your rope. With less of you there is more of God and his rule."
"You are blessed when you feel you've lost what is most dear to you. Only then can you be embraced by the One most dear to you." Matthew 5:3-4 The Message.
"Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you'll recover your life. I'll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me - watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won't lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you'll learn to live freely and lightly." Matthew 11:28-30 The Message.
When things fall apart. When a loved one walks away. When infidelity erupts into betrayal and hurt. When desire leads to covetousness. When harsh words and misunderstanding end up in estrangement. When differences create divisions. When greed balloons into embezzlements. When fear hides under cowardliness in the name of appeasement. When all is said and done, being alive presents a second chance to overcome, to restore. A hope to try at life again. A chance to wholeness.
Not without struggle
I am reaching for Your heart, you have my life in Your hands. Drawing me closer to You, I feel Your power renewed.
Nothing compares to this place, where I can see You face to face, I worship You in spirit and in truth.
But Jacob stayed behind by himself, and a man wrestled with him until daybreak. When the man saw that he couldn't get the best of Jacob as they wrestled, he deliberately threw Jacob's hip out of joint.
The man said, "Let me go; it's daybreak." Jacob said, "I'm not letting you go 'til you bless me." The man said, "What's your name?" He answered, "Jacob." The man said, "But no longer. Your name is no longer Jacob. From now on it's Israel (God-Wrestler); you've wrestled with God and you've come though."
Jacob asked, "And what's your name?" The man said, "Why do you want to know my name?" And then, right then and there, he blessed him. Jacob named the place Peniel (God' Face) because, he said, "I saw God face-to-face and lived to tell the story!" Genesis 32:24-30 The Message.
Life demands of us to get real. GOD desires nothing less than complete honesty and surrender. Coming face to face with Him means confronting our fears, our cowardice, our pride, our selfishness, our mistakes, our religiosity, our ignorance, our prejudices, our brokenness, our unbelief. That as we acknowledge them, only then can we move on to completion.
