Tomorrow's THE day. It's the start of the Deaf-initely Boleh! weekend carnival (http://deafboleh.com) at Lee Kong Chian Reference Library, next to Bugis Junction.
This project started slightly more than one year ago when a group of total strangers met, brainstormed, and put together a concerted drive to help those with hearing loss integrate more effectively into our largely hearing society.
It's been a wonderful journey thus far, with many strong friendships formed, and it's just plain encouraging to see all of my teammates putting their heart and soul into making this happen.
I thank God for this interesting chapter in my life. I came to The Singapore Association for the Deaf to volunteer my services, especially in seeing how the deaf can be helped. I was in turn helped in many ways, and felt the sincere love and care from this special group of friends.
To Joan, Yiquan, Lynne, Annie, Samantha, Ser Ming, Gerard, Zach, Pet, Dawn, Alvan, Ee Wun and of course, poster-girl Lyn, thanks for everything.
To all of you out there, join us tomorrow and Sunday, 11am to 6pm, at Deaf-initely Boleh! Carnival 2006.
Cheers :)
