Could Be

He could have been anything, but He chose to be the least.
The servant grew up before God - a scrawny seedling, a scrubby plant in a parched field.
There was nothing attractive about him, nothing to cause us to take a second look.
He was looked down on and passed over, a man who suffered, who knew pain firsthand.
One look at him and people turned away. We looked down on him, thought he was scum.
But the fact is, it was our pains he carried - our disfigurements, all the things wrong with us.
Isaiah 53:2-3 The Message. What about you and I? What do we choose?

When God created the world and man in His image, He gave the thumbs up.
God spoke: "Let us make human beings in our image, make them reflecting our nature
So they can be responsible for the fish in the sea, the birds in the air, the cattle,
And yes, Earth itself, and every animal that moves on the face of the Earth." Genesis 1:26.
God looked over everything he had made; it was so good, so very good!
It was evening, it was morning - Day Six. Genesis 1:31 The Message.
Did you know that God first made us in His image?

Before the first church was founded, the kingdom of God is about the hearts of those who believed.
But the time is coming - it has, in fact, come - when what you're called will not matter and where you go to worship will not matter. It's who you are and the way that you live that count before God. Your worship must engage your spirit in the pursuit of truth. That's the kind of people the Father is looking out for: those who are simply and honestly themselves before him in their worship. God is sheer being itself - Spirit. Those who worship him must do it out of their very being, their spirits, their true selves, in adoration." John 4:22-24 The Message. Even as we build the church, are we allowing an invasion of His kingdom into our hearts?
