Daily Thots: Have you taken your G6?

In case you are wondering, no, I am not a health supplement agent, and G6 is not some new pills to pop either. It's just my way of referring to Galatians 6.

I found a reference to this chapter while browsing through a regular newsletter I receive from Halftime. I was introduced to Halftime by my former boss Lee Meng, who has since become a good mentor and friend in the Lord. I will share in another post how I struggled as a mid-lifer and overcame that to live a power-packed life for Jesus. If for some reason I don't write soon, just send me a note & I will gladly put my brain in overdrive mode for you. Ok, back to G6.

G6 is a collection of SIX beautiful pointers to live an effective life as a believer (why SIX? well, it's chapter 6, remember? Kidding - just a coincidence). Let's see what they are:
  1. Carry each other's burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ (v 2)
  2. If anyone thinks he is something when he is nothing, he deceives himself (v 3)
  3. Anyone ... must share all good things with his instructor (v6)
  4. A man reaps what he sows (v7)
  5. as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people (v10)
  6. what counts is a new creation (v15)

For those who like it short & sweet, what it means is that we should be:

  1. Caring
  2. Humble
  3. Generous
  4. Smart (about where we invest our time & resources in)
  5. Charitable
  6. Sure (of your new identity in Christ)

There you go, Galatians Chapter 6 in 6 bite-size portions, take once a day, wash down with a glass of Living Water, and you are on your way to becoming a more effective Christian.

God's Word - nothing comes close.
