Prov 29: 11 "A fool uttereth all his anger; But a wise man keepeth it back and stilleth it."
It's important to muster anger & not let it run wild. Anger is like charcoal fire - the more you think about whatever that upsets you, the more you are fanning the burning coals, & the hotter it will burn. This is not the way to treat anger. Tell God when something makes you angry, tell Him why you are upset & asks Him to help you handle it; let Him know you want to forgive the source of the anger. Do not trade insults, or return a tit for tat. Give time & space after you have committed the matter to God; focus on other things. Then, as the coals are deprived of oxygen (which can be likened to our thoughts & focus), the fire will simply die out. I personally like to write email to God.
Here is a mail I wrote after a nasty encounter with a stock broker.
