Just to share a word before I fly off to Yangon, Myanmar.
Matthew 11:28 "Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily
burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn
from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart; and you will find rest
for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light."
I love the words of Jesus. It's always wonderful to read His words
because of who He is, the One and only Son of GOD.
Sometimes in the course of life, we find ourselves busy with endless
chores, be it at the workplace, in school or at home. Busy-ness is
part of life, for GOD has blessed us with capabilities to do things
that will make a difference in lives, that of ours and others.
However, GOD doesn't want us preoccupied with doing things because it
will eventually burn us out and leave our hearts cold towards Him.
King Solomon was a high achiever of his times, and possibly of all
times. He accomplished many projects, and was always motivated to do
more. Yet, he wisely said many times in the book of Ecclesiastes that
"all is vanity and chasing after the wind". Why is this so?
It's easy to see that the things we do don't last forever. Even the
greatest buildings and monuments, works of art and technology, must
come to an end one day. While we are here on earth, we do our best in
all that has been given to us. We take the very best care of all under
our stewardship, for all this is honorable and pleasing to GOD. Yet,
we must remember the purpose of our being is to honour GOD, not to
take pride in our accomplishments and hence honoring ourselves.
Therefore heed the words of Jesus. There is a time for work, and a
time for rest. Seek His face and fellowship daily.
May the love, favour and grace of our LORD and Saviour Jesus Christ be upon you.
The LORD bless you.
