I've Forgotten Again

Perhaps by now, you've forgotten all about me. And without reason, I keep waiting for you.

I haven't wanted to leave, just in case one day you decided to return, you'd find me still here.

That's why I stay here, in the same place as always, in the same city, and with the same people.

Just so when you return, you won't find anything odd. And things will be like they were, and you'll never leave us again.

Maybe I'm asking too much, I know I've forgotten, that we're already finished. That you'll never return, that you never really loved me.

I've forgotten again, that it was only me that loved you.

"Se Me Olvido Otra Vez" ("I've Forgotten Again") by Juan Gabriel, 1974.

To love; is to risk pain; to understand fear, loss and hope; to experience oneness. To love is to be overwhelmed, to lose oneself in another.

To love is to breathe the very essence of life. To love is the first step to wholeness, to have a home, to feel rested, sheltered, completed.

To love is to be at the juncture where science does not make sense, and magic takes over. To love is to be human.

To love is to have a glimpse into the divine, a taste of the sweet perfume of God.

For God is love. 1 John 4:8 NKJV.
