A prayer

Our loving Father in Heaven,

Thank you for speaking to me this morning. I know now that the ministry You have given me is to touch lives by sharing my life. This ministry is not an isolated segment of my life, with my work and family life nicely carved out. Rather, it is my whole life that should be shared out in sincerity even as I reach out and serve, so that people see not a perfect image but a life like any other, with its ups and downs, joys and sorrows, a work in progress, just like theirs.

You did not withhold Your love from me, even at times when I disobeyed You. Those moments of disobedience must have disappointed and hurt You, but You did not give up on me. I know You want me to mirror that in my relationship with my loved ones, colleagues and friends. It's love that is unconditional.

When Your Son Jesus Christ walked on earth, He loved and gave His all. That was how He shared Your love to those He reached out to. Help me, O Lord, to live this way. Let me be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to get angry, even as I urge others to do so. Let me also add that I should be quick to love with Your love.

Thank You for exchanging my sorrow with Your peace. I'm much comforted by Your words.
May Your name be blessed forever and ever, O Lord.
