Raised in A Fish Tank

Can one be raised in a fish tank? Well, why not? Since mankind has already been to the moon, lived in a biosphere, and dived the deepest ocean; why not a fish tank? It was not so long ago that I was raised in one. Four years ago, to be exact. How was it like being in a fish tank? You could say that it was a microscopic version of the ocean. All sorts of sea creatures lived in it. Sharks, killer whales, dolphins, sea turtles, you name it.

How was life in the fish tank? There were threats as well as shelter, challenges as well as rest, tears as well as laughter. Demand and expectations were high in the fish tank. Small fishes become easy targets of larger predators. Every small fish needs a bigger, more experienced fish to look out for it, to watch over it, to point out danger zones, to teach the young one the ways of the fish tank, survival techniques, execution skills and pitfalls to avoid in the ocean.

Thank God that this small fish had two bigger, more experienced ones watching over her in the fish tank. Swimming between the two of them, this small fish picked up execution skills and witnessed for herself two very different styles of staying on top of the game. A ball park of integrity, team spirit, longsuffering, audacity, care, concern, trust, and the art of dealing. Although I no longer swim in the fish tank, I'll always remember those days, for they have equipped me with the tools and values to get my act right in the ocean. The only reason that I am able to swim in the ocean is because of the hands that raised me in the fish tank.

Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labour. For if they fall, one will lift up his companion. But woe to him who is alone when he falls, for he has no one to help him up. Again, if two lie down together, they will keep warm; but how can one be warm alone? Though one may be overpowered by another, two can withstand him. And a threefold cord is not quickly broken. Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 NKJV.

So here's to Jacquie, Da Guo and the Master Hand, the Lord our God,
