Not Yet

"I'm not finished yet."

"Sir?"

"I'm not finished yet."

"What are you not finished with, Sir?"

"You."

"Me?"

"Yeah, you."

So I heard Him say, and decided to ask further.

"Sir, what is it about me that you are not finished with?"

"Your life. Your destiny. Your very being."

"Sir?"

"Yes, My child?"

"I don't know what to say, Sir."

"That's alright, My child. You have always been one with few words."

When I heard Him say that, my heart leapt.

What does it mean? It means there is hope.

It means He is in control of our lives and that He is the Chief Engineer of circumstances.

Hence, regardless of what life or people throw at us, we can trust Him for the outcome.

This is God's Word on the subject: "As soon as Babylon's seventy years are up and not a day before, I'll show up and take care of you as I have promised and bring you back home. I know what I am doing. I have it all planned out - plans to take care of you, not abandon you, plans to give you the future you hope for. Jeremiah 29:10-11 MSG.

Meanwhile, the moment we get tired in waiting, God's Spirit is right alongside helping us along......that's why we can be so sure that every detail in our lives of love for God is worked into something good.

God knew what he was doing from the very beginning. He decided from the outset to shape the lives of those who love him along the same lines as the life of his Son. The Son stands first in the line of humanity he restored. We see the original and intended shape of our lives there in him. After God made that decision of what his children should be like, he followed it up by calling people by name. After he called them by name, he set them on a solid basis with himself. And then, after getting them established, he stayed with them to the end, gloriously completing what he has begun. Romans 8:26-30 MSG.
