A Human Touch. The Godly Touch

It's better to have a partner than go it alone. Share the work, share the wealth. And if one falls down, the other helps, but if there is no one to help, tough! Two in a bed warm each other. Alone you shiver all night. By yourself you're unprotected. With a friend you can face the worst. Can you round up a third? A three-stranded rope isn't easily snapped. Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 The Message.

A friend at work shared the Prayer of St Francis with me some time back.

I looked for it this morning but couldn't find it as I was feeling rather flat.

Since I couldn't help myself and wasn't being useful to the people around me, God used two friends to pick me up.

An old timer outside the firm, and a young sheep from within. I now realized that I, too, need others to pick me up when I'm down.

Give and take, that's how relationships are built. An important lesson in life and Christ that I've learned this morning

It must have been what the leper felt when the Lord not only healed him with a word, but when the Lord touched him Matt 8:3.

The infection was banished by a word from Jesus. The loneliness of being ostracised by families and friends experienced by the leper, however, was treated by a touch from Jesus. Imagine the power of a godly touch? When was the last time we offered to others what Jesus offers to us unconditionally? I am not worthy but His love for me makes me worthy, and His love for you makes you worthy. I was reminded of how good it is to have God-loving and God-fearing friends close.
